Professional Personal Membership
Associate. Members in this category must hold an ALIA accredited library and information science qualification at under-graduate or post-graduate levels.
Library Technician. Members in this category must hold an ALIA accredited library technician qualification.
Allied Field. Members must be currently working at a professional level within the LIS sector, supported by an employer referee and hold a minimum of a Diploma qualification.
Please note that ALIA Allied Field membership does not fulfil the requirements of job advertisements requiring eligibility for Associate or Library Technician membership of ALIA.
ALIA Membership is open to everyone. Whether you have formal qualifications or simply an interest in the profession we welcome you to become a member of ALIA.
General Personal Membership: All interested individuals may join ALIA as a general member. No qualifications are required for this category of membership.
Student Membership: Enrolled students studying towards a library and information science qualification may join as a Student Member.

Reduced fee applies to persons whose gross personal income for the financial year is $34 600 or less, and Health Care Card holders.New Graduate fee applies to graduates for their first two years in the profession after graduating from an ALIA Accredited course.
Retiree fee applies to persons who have retired from employment.
